Request Support

Before we assist you, please complete the following form.

Our intake system is designed for people seeking specific information about their workplace situation. For quick questions we suggest using the resources listed above!

All questions are asked to best assist you. All answers are kept private.

Due to Reduced Capacity, Intakes are PAUSED until January 2025.

If you submitted an inquiry before November 21st - you will still be paired with a member of the legal servicing team.

Intakes submitted on or after November 21st will be paused until January unless you indicate that your situation is an emergency (this includes: mass layoffs/termination, wage theft with looming repercussions like eviction, or otherwise any issue that is urgently affecting a group of workers).

To access help before January 2025, see these resources. Otherwise, you are still welcome to submit an intake and join our waiting list.

The Halifax Workers’ Action Centre is comprised of workers in the community and volunteer law students who are supervised by employment lawyers. We cannot offer legal representation or advice, we can provide information about your rights at work and options on how you can move forward.

Because of the nature of collective agreements, the Halifax WAC can only offer support to non-unionized workers. If you are a member of a union and are experiencing difficulty, please contact your union representative.

Estimated current wait time to speak with a member of the legal information team is: 5 weeks
