Request Support

Before we assist you, please complete the following form.

Our intake system is designed for people seeking specific information about their workplace situation. For quick questions we suggest using the resources listed above!

All questions are asked to best assist you. All answers are kept private.

NOTE: Our intake process is closed until further notice.

Intakes submitted on or after March 28th will be paused unless you indicate that your situation is an emergency (this includes: mass layoffs/termination, wage theft with looming repercussions like eviction, or otherwise any issue that is urgently affecting a group of workers). In these cases please indicate the nature of the emergency in the intake form, and we will try to be in touch as soon as possible.

Otherwise, if you need to speak to someone in the meantime, please use one of the resources listed on our page. Or attend a Know Your Rights workshop.

The Halifax Workers’ Action Centre is comprised of workers in the community and volunteer law students who are supervised by employment lawyers. We cannot offer legal representation or advice, we can provide information about your rights at work and options on how you can move forward.

Because of the nature of collective agreements, the Halifax WAC can only offer support to non-unionized workers. If you are a member of a union and are experiencing difficulty, please contact your union representative.
